Good boys go to heaven, bad boys go to Amsterdam...

My shiny new keychain.

So, second day in Amsterdam was... eventful. We sort of just did the same thing we did the first day, and just wandered around. Many times. And got lost. Many times. First order of the day, was to find some semblance of supermarket or general store so Jordan could buy soap, and so I could buy toothpaste. It doesn't matter how much you try to prepare, as it turns out, you'll always leave something behind. Although that said, Jordan still needs socks and a sleeping bag. But the hostel where we're staying supplies a doona. Ironically, after being lost for about an hour and a half, we found a store that is quite literally around the corner from where we are staying. But if it wasn't for us getting lost, we never would have seen the Heinekan brewery, or some strange srtatue of a guy laying down with a bugle.

The people here are so nice. and I don't just mean the people in the hostel (a great mix of Australians, Spaniards, French, and Brazilians, that we've met so far. But the Dutch are really quite lovely as well. We had a great chat to two Dutch guys while Jordan was getting his new tattoo.

Oh yeah, that's right, Jordan got himself a new tattoo.

This is the place we have dubbed 'our pub.'
This While he was getting that, I dissapeared off to 'our pub' for a pint, and ended up chatting with Iris, the Dutch woman who works there, and some Scottish dude who'd been living there for three years. I like our local pub, it might be called 'Balls', but the people are friendly, and the beer is delicious. From what Iris tells me, Heinekan is sort of like our Fosters. In that nobody drinks it. But their 'Bavaria beer' is amazing.

And, during one of our periods where we were lost, we found the Red Light district. Never has window shopping been more amazing! Serious, the Myer Christmas window this year is going to have to lift it's game. It was actually a whole lot of fun, but we've decided that we'll have to go back during the night time, as we expect it to be quite a bit busier, and therefore far more interesting.

The canals here are truly beautiful, but DO NOT try to navigate Amsterdam with them.
Why? because the damn things are everywhere.
Jordan hangin' down by one of the many canals.

And myself.
There are eighty thousand bicycle stolen in Amsterdam every year,
walk around any block in Amsterdam, and you will have seen around
eighty thousand bicycles. This was one of the streets with the least.
The clock tower which truly has been our saving grace. This is how
we've been navigating this fine city.
Jordan with weed-flavoured lollypop. Think of a foodstuff... chances are,
they've added weed to it somehow.
They also sell Dr. Pepper here (sans weed), and hey, Jordan has his
substances, I have mine. Speaking of...
Mescaline cactus' on a store shelf in Amsterdam.
Many, many types of magic mushrooms. Available from the same
shop as the cactus'.
Tonight, we're going to try and hit the pub crawl advirtised here. Looks fun, and I wanna know what the weekend night life is like here.

Until next time everyone, you are in my heart always.
