Ha.
Funny.
Even a little bit witty. Maybe.
And again, last night, I just felt like a jerk. But I'll come to that.
So the plan yesterday morning was to head to Austria,

| But first, to leave the glorious Taj MaTent |
As they say, "The best laid plans of mice and men, oft' go awry."
This flying (locomoting?) by the seat of my pants thing probably needs just slightly more preparation. I've gotten pretty lucky so far, what with just pointing in a direction and saying "That way" and then somehow finding accomodation. But I think that maybe I should try and plan at least a couple of days in advance from now on.
Or not, knowing me. Best laid plans and all that.
Either way, off I went, onto the next train to Prague. Or bus, as it turned out. It took a few hours, I watched TRON on my computer. Okay, seriously, how good is that movie? The ending feels a little rushed, but God damn I am looking forward to the sequel. December 17th, I believe. Trailer can be found here. And yes, you should totally watch it. Because it's awesome.
Now where was I? Oh yeah, Prague.
So I get off the bus in Prague, and straight away realise that in terms of a language barrier, I've gone from bad to worse. At least I know a couple of words in German. Do you know how to say 'Sorry, I don't speak Czech?' in Czech? That's right, and neither does anybody else.
So I stopped a girl I'd heard speaking English earlier on the bus, and asked if she had any idea where she was going. Like me, she didn't, and as it turns out she was Australian. So we hung out together for a bit whilst we got our bearings, then offloaded our bags at a hostel, and proceeded to explore Prague.
And this is where the 'me feeling like a jerk for trivialising this place' comes in. Oh, that and I left my camera back at the hostel. Seriously, I need that thing attached at the hip or something. And I mean surgically.
We were walking along the Charles bridge. It was dark out, we had just had some food, we walked past this guy playing Bach on crystal glasses,

| I did, however, go back today, and get him to strike a pose for me. |
And then, whilst looking out across the bridge at the Prague palace, all beautifully lit up, with this amazing music behind us... well, this amazing firework display stared happening, right above the river. It was just one of those moments that felt like it was all for me, even if it was everyones, I felt that it was mine. And I fell in love.
And I don't mean the stranger at my side, or the music, or the palace, or the crowd around us. It was all just so surreal, and special, and it all felt like it was for me. That somehow, this was what I'd come away for in the first place. I fell in love with that complete moment in time. Words really do fail me, and pictures will never do it justice, but there you go.
All of a sudden the so-called "clever" "funny" or "witty" line of "Czech yo'self fo' you wreck yo'self..." just didn't seem adequate.
Anyway, the night did't really end there, we went exploring through the streets of Old Prague, through the palace itself, and it was just ever so lovely. I'm going back there later tonight to get pictures. Really, truly amazing.
We went our seperate ways after that, and I tried to write a post for how the day had gone so far, but I still had to process.
I think that this is my favorite city so far. I really do.
And just you wait for the night time shots. They'll be ever so pretty. And they still won't do it any justice.
You are in my heart always.
